About Taylor Wessing

Taylor Wessing is a leading international law firm with expertise across technology, life sciences, and private wealth sectors. Delivering innovative legal solutions to both global corporations and emerging businesses. Their forward-thinking approach and commitment to challenging conventional wisdom has established them as a trusted partner for organisations navigating complex, rapidly evolving, legal landscapes.

The Requirement

Taylor Wessing needed a film to open their London Gender and Inclusion event that would have impact and inspire action. It needed to engage a diverse audience with a message that was both emotive but also persuasive, for instance presenting key positive stats on gender inclusivity. It also had to balance challenging existing preconceptions while reflecting Taylor Wessing's already innovative progress. The firm wanted to demonstrate their commitment to diversity and inclusion in a film that would resonate both internally with their teams and externally with clients and industry peers. The challenge lay in creating something that would be both emotionally impactful and professionally appropriate for a leading law firm.

The Solution

We crafted a visually striking narrative that opened with deliberately stereotypical gender-based imagery before dynamically shattering these preconceptions. The image selection and visual design throughout was intentionally bold and design lead.

The film's structure was carefully planned to build tension and engagement. Using arresting abstract visuals and bold motion design to support the key messages, we integrated complex data and statistics in a way that felt natural and compelling to maintain clear message delivery throughout the visual richness.

Our creative team worked closely with Taylor Wessing to ensure every element aligned with their brand values and professional standards. For instance, the soundtrack was specifically chosen to enhance the emotional journey while maintaining professional gravitas.

Impact and Benefits

The film achieved remarkable success, winning the Gold Dolphin at Cannes Corporate Awards and reaching finalist status at New York TV and Film Festivals 2020. It successfully engaged both internal and external audiences, prompting actionable discussions on gender equality and demonstrating Taylor Wessing's genuine commitment to inclusion. The piece continues to be referenced as an example of effective corporate communication on diversity issues, proving its lasting impact and relevance. The success of this project demonstrated how creative visual storytelling can elevate important corporate messages beyond standard corporate communications. It showed that with the right approach, even serious professional services firms can produce content that achieves both creative excellence and strategic objectives.
